If you’re delegating your confidence to someone else, you get what they want you to have! As you begin retraining your mindset to cultivate self-confidence, start by questioning what you think! Our thoughts are the primary source of our happiness and our suffering.

Common Self-Talk Challenges and How to Overcome Them

As a Coach, I teach confidence as an inside job! It starts with how we talk to ourselves, how we treat ourselves, what we believe to be true about ourselves. (Nothing has meaning until we add it!) Our minds can trick us into believing all kinds of things, why not train it to be nicer?! Our childhoods, experiences, past traumas, and habits become our ‘tape-recorder thoughts,’ those things that play over and over in our heads. Too often our repetitive thoughts are negative, and that becomes the pattern of how we think about ourselves. We even make up what other people think about us. So much of what I coach is about identifying limiting beliefs, retraining patterns of negative thoughts, and teaching how to train that inside voice to say nice things to you. Our mind is a muscle than can and should be trained.

How to Do the Six Minute Self-Talk Reset (Step-by-Step)

Here’s a six-minute walking reset to rewire negative self-talk and cultivate self-confidence! It’s best to be moving when you do it. Walking on the treadmill, out in nature, anything that moves your body but also lets you focus in a sort of meditative way. It’s great to use anytime, but particularly good if you’ve had a life event that rocked your foundation, like a job loss, or a relationship change. If you’re considering a reinvention, but don’t quite feel the confidence to do it yet, start with your mindset and this reset. There’s no wrong way to do this. It’s just breathing, walking, listening and repeating!
